Casting Skills:
Summoning - Liro is able to bring forth from the earth many forms of plant life. She has a preference for poisonous, barbed or stinging plants. Her strongest and most loved summon is the 'mother' plant. Her summons instinctively seek to ensnare and entrap her enemy, though if she is in mortal peril the 'mother' plant among her other summons shows the unique tendency to attempt to protect her.
Manipulation - Liro can manipulate plantlife and other things within the Vernal category. From causing accelerated growth to wielding vines as if they were extensions of herself, this power comes to her quite naturally. Though she can manipulate the 'mother' plant, she usually will not resort to doing so. 'mother' is left to make its own decisions, as Liro would not throw it in harms way herself.

Skills:
Aura Sight - Liro sees Vernal auras with the most ease, but is capable of focusing herself to see auras from other spheres too.
Sense Magic - Liro instinctively senses the use of magic nearby. Once again, she is most attuned to Vernal magic, however Fire magic is sensed easily, especially when it is cast upon, against or near to plantlife. All other spheres feel the same to Liro, unless she is actively trying to sense magic.
Hypnotic Stare - The EYES! THOSE EYES! When Liro goes nuts, or has a quiet psycopathic moment, her eyes dilate further and radiate with innocent, deadly, empty intent. In some they cause fear, or disgust, and in others they cause sadness and pity. No matter what the feeling, staring into Liro's eyes while 'mother' is out and doing its own thing can prove to be a fatal mistake.

Equipment:
Staff(Custom Spear) - This is the cutting tool her mother used to cut down out of reach herbs. When she was taken from Liro, it was one of the few possessions she held on to. She had it reforged to a weapon designed for ensnaring limbs and disabling wrists or ankles, with a pointed tip for stabbing and slashing.

Personality: Sociopathic, verging on maniacal. Does not hold much regard for any life, excepting the plants she summons. When in a neutral mood she seems very normal to the untrained eye, if a little distant, but when in battle the facade is thrown away and she quite openly displays both her unhealthy affection for her plants, and her perceived worthlessness of her opponent.

Bio: At age seven, her mother was murdered by a Vernal Magus of unknown origin. She watched her mother consumed and torn apart by deadly vine summons. In order to cope with the loss of her mother, she shifted her affections and attentions to the plants she tended in her mothers garden, and lost all respect for other forms of life. Over the years, and thanks to alarmingly regular and long visits to her mothers final, magically tainted resting place where she was slain, Liro began to find latent affinities for Vernal magic awakening within her. she taught herself to use these abilities to a small extent, and upon meeting a traveling Magus who recognised her talent she was persuaded to join the Academy.

She studied there for several years, her mastery of Vernal magic progressing at an amazing rate. Her emotional disconnection didn't make her any friends, but she had her plants and would often talk to them. When she was finally able to summon poisonous, barbed vines similar to those who took her mothers life, her warped mind saw only her mother, and she took it to be that her mother had finally returned to protect and love her once again.

Now, as one of the sixteen most promising Magi at the Academy, Liro stands to compete in a ceremonial tournament, with great power to be granted as the grand prize. She hopes to use the power she may gain to give permanent life to 'mother' - not the loving parent of her youth, but the monstrous creature born of her magic.

She is maniacally devoted to 'mother' and will attempt to bring fierce retribution to an opponent should they harm it. She is entirely capable of wielding other appropriate plants and plantlife as weapons via her manipulation magic if 'mother' is not able to fight, and her summons range from single quick-summoning vines through to the full-sized 'mother' plant, comprised of several large pink-hued blossoms sat atop a writhing mass of poisoned, barbed vine-limbs. When first summoned, 'mother' features only one blossom, and is the size shown above. If left unchecked, 'mother' can grow to fill the arena. However, like most plants, growth will be limited if the arena does not comprise a surface that 'mother' can root in.

'mother' is a poisonous and barbed plant. The poison causes weakness and sluggishness. The deeper a barb bites, the quicker the poison will effect - light scratches will take a long time to start showing symptoms. The yellow, central 'teeth' carry a heavily concentrated poison with the same effects, however they will be felt instantaneously and if allowed to continue may result in total paralysis of the muscles on a victims body. The paralysis is temporary, if the victim can get away somehow from the 'teeth'. 'mother' does NOT eat people, but may attempt to snag an opponent and push them against these 'teeth'.

Her weapon is a reforged tool for taking cuttings from herbs and plants that are out of reach, for example higher up on the bark of a tree. It has been forged from being a circular inwardly sharp blade, to a pointed and hollow speartip, now designed to catch wrists and ankles, allowing Liro to remove mobility from an opponent before her 'mother' ensnares them should they get within weapon range.

Fun facts: The flower Liro wears in her hair is a blossom taken and preserved with Vernal magic from the site of her real mother's death. If she ever meets her mother's killer, she will extract the deadly poison from this blossom and soak her speartip in it, in order to slay her mysterious nemesis with both the tool her mother left behind, and a poison born of her mother's blood. Should this ever happen, it is possible her mind may become a little more stable, as maybe, just maybe, she may start to accept her mother's death inside.
